A Communications Team member of the NDC, Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Benneh has warned prospective aspirants who intend to contest against John Mahama in the NDC flagbearership primaries to desist.
According to him, contesting against the former President, considering his popularity, is an exercise in futility.
Several names have popped up as persons likely to vie for the flagbearership of the NDC.
With the EIU revealing in their report that the NDC is likely to win the 2024 Election if they present a new candidate, the race is expected to be even tougher.
However, even though former President Mahama has not declared his intentions to contest or otherwise, many believe he is the best placed to lead the NDC.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM, Lawyer Benneh said it will be a waste of time to contest John Mahama since he will win by a landslide.
