Sammy Gyamfi has questioned Vice President Bawumia’s silence on the rising cost of living and other economic issues facing Ghana.
When asked why prices in Ghana were rising, he claimed it was because Dr. Bawumia, who heads the government’s Economic Management Team and is lauded by supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a “economic messiah,” had disappeared.

In a Twitter post, Sammy Gyamfi said a gallon of diesel is selling at GHS72 while the dollar is selling at GHS12.5. The cost of living keeps soaring but the braggadocios talkative and chairman of the EMT @MBawumia (Dr. Bawumia), who was once projected as the answer to all our economic woes, has gone AWOL.

Currently, fuel prices have shot up to almost GH¢16 per litre at some filling stations in the country.
Diesel is now being sold by Total Energies, a major Oil Marketing Company, for GH15.99 per liter, while gasoline is priced at GH13.10 per liter.

Meanwhile, if the inflation rate in Ghana continues to rise, prices across the board will rise for Ghanaians.
September 2022 inflation rate increased to 37.2% from August’s 33.90%. The inflation rate was 3.8% for food and 3.6% for everything else.
The local inflation rate was 35.8%, while the inflation rate for imported goods was 40.7%.
