A man’s mind, stretched by new ideas, stretch by new discoveries, stretch by new governance may never return to its original dimensions and after all the reflections we shouldn’t allow ignorance to judge as by flaws of one man thus John Mahama.

Its barely four years after the exit of the former first gentleman of the land, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama who was popularly known in our political discourse as John Mahama.

Interestingly, the achievements of this noble personality can never be downplayed as far as infrastructural developments and the strive for good and accountable governance is under scrutiny. One may argue with the said fact that, corruption under his administration was unprecedented and shouldn’t, therefore, deserve my pen to be praised for all the good reasons.

My response will be simple, just look around and let us be judge by the peace and tranquility that we enjoy us Ghanaian alone and not to talk to Senior High School edifice that was built under his administration, unprecedented is underused for such great achievements. I don’t stand a partisan being, I declare.

With my vivid experience as a teacher, I recall the numerous schools that I saw in the year 2016 as I was posted to Krachi Nchumuru District of the Volta region at the time, I stared agape at the district Senior High School that I witnessed. It was something we could all be proud of if and if partisan politics wouldn’t blind us. I was later told that the said E-blocks were built across more than six (6) regions across Ghana but a word was only said about them by the media.

On water and sanitation, John Mahama increased investment in the provision of clean drinking water and cited the provision of boreholes, small-town water systems, and major urban water treatment projects as some initiatives that had significantly increased access to clean drinking water.

On the issue of roads and transport, John Mahama finished off-road projects he inherited, such as the Achimota-Ofankor, Awoshie-Pokuase, Sofoline, and Tetteh Quarshie-Adenta.

On Mahama’s economy, he introduced the ECF programme that resulted in an improved macro economic environment that brought a steady decline in inflation and interest rates.

With all this just to make us remember the good works of our former leader and a father to this nation, I pen down this piece to let us known how we betrayed him amid numerous positive developments he did as let the bad policies and people around him at the time know they were the cause of his downfall as anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. My title John Mahama’s coup d’etat was to make us known how the greedy beings that surrounded him brought him down with their immature comments and corrupt practices.

After the era of John Mahama, our necks were hooked with the chain of another faction of the partisan which is in the shape of the ruling New Patriotic Party then came in with the hopes of building on hopes we can thrive on with their Free Senior High School policy but despite their long talks, the manacle of the partisan politics is still in the dispensation of the country’s body politics.

A minute I spent to read and research about the developments that went down under Mahama’s administration and my quest to learn more from his policies than was downplayed by his own ‘small boys’ like Okodzeto Ablakwa, Kwakye Ofosu just to mention a few changed my opinion about his flaw tag then it made me think and re-think, but I would not replace Nana Akufo Addo’s governance with his because they times and destinies are not the same, however, sharing is caring.
