Martina Navratilova was a former professional tennis player who is Czech-American, began her career at a young age, and maintained consistency all the way up until she retired.

Many people consider Martina Navratilova to be one of the all-time great tennis players.

She won 59 major championships overall throughout her tennis career, which is the highest in the Open Era, including 18 major singles wins, 31 major women’s doubles trophies, and 10 major mixed doubles titles. In 2000, she was admitted to the Hall of Fame.

Martina Navratilova participates with a number of organizations that support homosexual rights, children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and animal rights. She has contributed more than $25,000 to Democratic campaigns and is a Democrat as well.

Martina Navratilova made news in January 2023 after receiving a breast and throat cancer diagnosis. Later this month, the 18-time Grand Slam singles winner will begin receiving therapy in New York.
