Karim Ouellet famille

Karim Ouellet is from a family of musicians. Born December 8, 1984, in Dakar, Senegal, he was adopted by a couple in Canada. His sister, Sarahmée, was adopted by the same people. His father is a diplomat. For that matter, he traveled a lot. He traveled across countries such as Canada, Rwanda, France, Senegal, and Tunisia before settling, in 2002, in the Montcalm district, in Quebec.

Karim’s mother is a musician, she plays Kora— a traditional African instrument.

Karim started music from a very tender age. During his childhood, he learned to play piano, percussion, and guitar.

Karim once narrated that he made his first music when he was only 7 years old. He then took up the electric guitar when he was a teenager on the recommendation of his friend, and began playing with local bands. Around 2005, he became acquainted with Claude Bégin, who later co-wrote the lyrics and music for Ouellet’s first three albums.

May his soul rest in peace!
