The Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has commended the move by the government to pay the loan owed former world featherweight boxing champion, David Kotey, a.k.a D.K Poison.

He stated that it’s a good move to settle the over 30 year old debt which has been ignored by successive governments.

Mr. Baako however cautioned that this dishonorable act shouldn’t be mentioned about Ghana again in future.

The ace journalist added that a sovereign state like Ghana should not stoop so low to this level.

Mr. Kotey is said to be owed $45,000 USD by the state after lending it in 1975 but the President, Nana Akuffo-Addo in a recent directive has sanctioned that the money be paid to Ghana’s first boxing world title holder.
