Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso constituency, Kennedy Kwasi Kankam has disclosed how he nearly lost his wife to contract killing after being held hostage for 3 hours.
This comes after MP for Mfantseman, Ekow Quansah Hayford was shot dead by armed robbers after they got to know that he was a legislator.
Speaking to Joynews, Mr Kankam revealed that the robbers broke into his home and held his family hostage with the plan to take his life, however, the robbers upon seeing how young his kids were decided to spare him.
“I think it was a targeted operation because if you look at how I have built the walls and security systems, it is something that, if it wasn’t well planned, wouldn’t be easy for any robber to break into the house.
“The robbers told me that, ‘you are the target, but because of your children who are very young we can’t do this to you’ and they demanded something, and we paid the ransom before my life was spared on that day,” he recounted.
