The Ministry of Youth and Sports has ordered the Ghana Football Association to assess the work and competence of Black Stars head coach Milovan Rajevac after their dismal performance at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, the Black Stars were knocked out of the group stage after losing 3-2 to the Comoros.
The Black Stars have been eliminated from the AFCON group stage for the first time since 2006 as a result of this loss.
Ussif said that the nation had lost faith in the squad and questioned the coach’s abilities.
“To the GFA, the Ministry of Sports made it obvious that the Ghanaian people no longer have faith in the present Black Stars technical staff to bring victory. Milovan Rajevac’s Black Stars technical staff, lead by Rajevac as head coach, have been requested to be reviewed by the GFA “as stated in the declaration.
Ordered GFA to disband Black Stars Management Committee.
In line with his duty, the Ministry convened an emergency meeting and requested that the Ghana Football Association rebuild the Black Stars Management Committee.
Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), claimed earlier that calls by Ghanaians for the removal of coach Milovan Rajevac are premature.
While speaking to Asempa FM, he stressed that the FA would take Ghana’s best interests into consideration.
In order to make the best choices for Ghana, he emphasized that “cool heads, engagement, and the appropriate judgments” were all essential.
Kurt Okraku also reaffirmed that the coach made the final selections for the competition, as he had previously said.
“It is Milovan who makes the final call on who makes the national team. After selecting his team, he submits it to a committee and explains the rationale behind his selections. no one picks players for the coach “he made the statement.
