As reported earlier, US Multiple Grammy-nominated blues singer and guitarist Vasti Jackson is currently in our motherland, Ghana.
And as part of the plans, Vasti Jackson was booked by +233 Jazz Pub and Lounge on October 30 and delivered the very best of performance for those who graced the occasion.
And in the course of the performance, he made it known how Tengol K. Klemani of The Taste of Afrika fame made his visit to Afrika particularly Ghana possible.
The Taste of Afrika movement seeks to exploit Afrikan music and culture by bringing together creative acts from different Afrikan countries to tour around the continent with series of musical concerts, rich cultural exhibitions, tourism among others.
Regardless, Vasti Jackson and The Taste of Afrika team made a visit to Elmina Castle in the central region and Larabanga Mosque to have a taste of our Ghanaian tourism and cultural heritage.
Born in Mississippi, Jackson is known for his soulful live performances. In 2017, his Soul of Jimmie Rodgers album won the Best Traditional Blues Album at the 59th Grammys.
Jackson is also the recipient of the JMA 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award, 2019 Polar International Music Award and the 2015 Albert King Lifetime Guitar Award.
