A middle-aged man and a native of Walewale in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region is currently battling for his life at the Tamale Teaching Hospital after he was allegedly caught bonking one of the wives of a renowned Paramount Chief and beaten to a pulp.

Angry residents who subjected the man identified as Abass Shani to various forms of torture including dragging him on the bare floor after tying his hands and legs left him with severe degrees of injuries all over his body.

But for the timely intervention of armed police, the man who investigations uncovered already has three wives would have been lynched as they bade for his blood for committing what they observed was a sacrilege.

He was rushed to the Baptist Medical Centre (BMC) in Nalerigu in the East Mamprusi District but later referred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital in view of his deteriorating health condition.

Though the East Mamprusi Police Commander DSP Misper Klay has confirmed the unfortunate incident to TheBBCghana.Com, he was tight-lipped on giving further details except to the say the matter is under investigation.

Snippets of information gathered by TheBBCghana.Com suggest that the victim is alleged to have been in an amorous sexual relationship with the Chief’s wife for some time now unknown to him their love life was being monitored.

On the day in question, he was said to have visited the woman in her home but while they reported being engaged in the act, spies pounced on them and starting giving the man in question the beatings of his life.

Other youth of the town who saw what was going on, joined in the beatings until the police were informed and rushed in to save the situation.
