Report currently gathered from the world of football by The BBC Ghana indicates that Barcelona star, Lionel Messi, now wants to leave Camp Nou.
Messi has spent his entire career at Camp Nou and seeing him win 6 Ballon d’Or on all these occasions.
The report has is that Lionel Messi has activated a clause in his contract which would allow him to leave on a free transfer.
Apparently, the 33-year old has sent a letter to Barcelona which communicates his intentions of leaving the club – a club he has spent almost his entire football career.
The 33-year-old’s contract will actually expire at the end of the 2020-2021 season but the legal team behind Lionel Messi believes the clause will allow the star to terminate his contract unilaterally.
Lionel Messi’s decision to leave Camp Nou comes at the time they were humiliated by Bayern Munich in an 8-2 defeat at the just ended Champions League which saw Barcelona fail at winning a trophy this season.
