Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwa, the Director-General of GES, witnessed the distribution of Laptops to teachers at O’Reilly Senior High School in Accra on Monday.
In presenting the devices, the Director-General discounted the perception that the TM1 Laptops are of poor quality simply because they were not coming from any of the known brands of computers.
On the cost of the laptop as being expensive, the DG of GES “even the simplest smartphone like Tecno spark 4 does not cost less than 500.00ghc” and that if a “teacher is parting away with such an amount to own a laptop, that cannot be described as shortchanging the teacher.”
Don’t forget that since the laptops were handed over by the vice president of Ghana to the Ghana Education Service, however, there have been calls from various personalities to avoid the laptops as they claim it’s shoddy.
