Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has said that he is not sure when graduate teachers will be recruited in an interview on the GTV breakfast show on Thursday.

According to the Minister, the GES and MoE have employed over 93,000 teachers since 2017 and will be hoping to get financial clearance from the finance ministry.

“Am not sure. What I can tell you is that in the last 4 years we’ve hired over 93,000 teachers and the majority of them were graduate teachers for free senior high school since the enrollment went up.

Now what we are doing now is focusing on the basic schools, once we deploy them, we are hoping to get some clearance for graduate teachers and we will be able to do that.

The graduate teachers were not trained in colleges of education where we have to post them, so we are hoping that clearance for graduate teachers will be able to recruit them”

The Education Minister in an interview on Wontumi TV some weeks ago assured that graduates will be recruited this year (January or February).

He also indicated that NABCo personnel is likely to be recruited since there will not be any graduates from the college of education
