The president of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indicated that Coronavirus cases in Ghana continue to spread as according to his 11th address to the state on coronavirus update.
According to the president, the country has tested 254,331 with the country now recording 11,964 confirmed cases as reported by the Ghana Health Service Directorate (GHS).
The first gentleman of the land. His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo further stated that Ghana’s active cases now stand at 7,652, and he also added that six persons critically ill, three persons on ventilators.
Nana Akufo Addo in his own words said:
“With 54 deaths currently reported by the Ghana Health Service thus far in Ghana, the ratio of deaths to positive cases stands at 0.4%, compared to the global average of 5.5%, and the African average of 2.6%”
Interestingly, the Health Minister of Ghana, who is in the person of Hon Kwaku Agyeman Manu dominated the blogspace as reports that went viral over suggested that the Dormaa Central MP has tested positive for the novel virus.
This development was later debunked by the minister that he was suffering from an ill-health and it wasn’t coronavirus as suggested.
In the president’s 11th address to the nation, President Akufo addo said that, the Minister of health who later debunked the said rumours is said to be positive, and he wished him a speedy recovery.
This caused for pandemonium and the latter was another Member of parliament was alleged to have tested positive but privately letting it be in secret, the said minister is currently not in Ghana as he is said to have being quarantines in the United States.
