The new date for Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s mid-year budget review presentation is Thursday, July 27, 2023.

On Friday, July 21, 2023, Second Deputy Majority Whip Habib Iddrisu made a statement in the legislature.

“The committee also took into account a formal communication from the Finance Ministry that the mid-year budget review will be presented on Thursday, July 27, 2023, instead of Tuesday, July 25, 2023, as announced by the business committee,” he stated.

The public financial management legislation of 2016 (legislation 921) and Article 179 of the 1992 constitution govern the mid-year fiscal policy.

It is an analysis of the government’s financial and economic report to parliament for 2023.

Ahmed Ibrahim, the First Deputy Minority Whip, raised concern that the new date conflicts with Alban Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, who had ordered that the mid-year budget review budget be presented on 25 July.
