Chief Executive Officer for COCOBOD, Joseph Boahen Aidoo has told former president John Dramani Mahama to keep mute on issues involving the cocoa sector.
According to him, John Dramani Mahama’s contribution to the cocoa industry when he was president is nothing to write home about.
This comes after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer chided President Akufo-Addo for abandoning cocoa road projects started under his administration.
Addressing the chiefs and people at Atobiase in the Wassa East district of the Western region as part of the Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign tour of the area, Mr Boahen noted that the Akufo-Addo led government have compensated farmers whose cocoa plants suffered swollen shoot with one thousand Ghana cedis.
However, under John Mahama, nothing was done for these farmers because he is bereft of ideas on how the cocoa industry operates.
