Assin Awisem Police service has arrested Kojo Antwi for alleged killing his two-year-old stepdaughter named Victoria Twumasi.
According to Central Regional Deputy Police PRO Sgt Isaac Evans Ettie, Kojo Antwi assaulted the two-year-old girl during a Health Insurance Registration Exercise in Assin Awisem.
A twenty-seven-year-old man called Ebenezer Antwi popularly called Kojo Antwi in currently in the crisp of Awisem Police.
In narratingthe incident, Victoria’s mother said that the little girl eased on herself during the registration exercise which provoked Kojo Antwi to hit the little girl on the ground, fracturing her leg.
According to the Victoria’s mother Alice Gbeve, Kojo Antwi then took the little girl into the bush and killed the little girl and took to his heels.
The Assembly member for Assin Awisem Obrayeko Electoral area Ayuba Andoh stated the police were given a tip-off to the arrest of Kojo Antwi, leading to his arrest in a nearby village
Upon interrogation, Kojo Antwi admitted to killing the little girl with weedicide (gramoxone) and buried her under a cocoa tree
Kojo Antwi is currently in police custody while the little girl’s body has been retrieved and sent to Twifo Praso Government hospital for autopsy
