Official: Gov’t To Introduce Six Years Secondary Education – Education Minster Adutwum

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has hinted at reforming Ghana’s Education in what it described as Lower Secondary Education which will be a merger of Junior High and Senior High Schools.

The Lower Secondary Education reform will wipe off the old system and provide six years of secondary education.

Speaking to the press, the Minister of Education, Yaw Osei Adutwum said the government has awarded contracts to about 15 new schools which will pilot the six years lower secondary education and not the old system which provides 3 years JHS education and 3 years SHS Education.

According to the Minister, these schools will be well equipped with libraries, science labs among others and will include the teaching of robotics into the curriculum.
