The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), has finally spoken on the circular making it ways on social media platforms of teachers across the country on the news regarding the payment of professional teachers’ allowance.

According to the Ashanti Regional Chapter of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) program on Kumasi-based Angel FM dubbed ‘GNAT Hour’ as monitored by TheBBCghana.Com, the association debunked the earlier reports that have been circulating in the sense that the government has not finalized on the payment of such allowance to teachers and reports from their headquarters denies such information on their desk.

According to Mrs Owusu Boahen who represents the Kwabre Chapter of the association, the said news that went viral was brought to his notice a few hours after that publication went viral and his attempts to find out from the appropriate headquarters came to his knowledge that government is yet to decide on whether they will pay or not to pay so the news that went viral is not sourced.

“I don’t actually know where the said news came from but my checks from our executive claims they have no knowledge of such notice of payment this month” – he said.
