Since Ebony Reigns passed away, Ghana music industry has witnessed several female musicians including Wendy Shay trying to ride on her [Ebony Reigns] antics to make name for themselves.
Prior to the above scenario, Sarkodie between 2009 – 2013 also had a lot of budding rappers imitating his unique rapping style hoping to make an impact in the game of Ghana rap.
Similarly, there’s one budding artiste called Yaw Ray of CB Records who sounds like Kuami Eugene of Lynx Entertainment fame considering the rhythmic tone of Yaw Ray when he sings.
But according to Yaw Ray in a fresh interview, he doesn’t sound like Kuami Eugene neither he’s copying from him adding that he started music before Kuami busted into the music industry.
“I was doing my thing before Kuami Eugene came into the scene, but he is in the mainstream”, he said.
On what he feels when people say he sounds like Kuami Eugene, he said;
“I feel bad. It’s like doing a lot of work and the credit is being given to someone so it makes me feel bad sometimes.
