Managing Editor for the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has stated that creating polling station in SHS schools for voter registration is purely illegal.

Electoral Commission announced two days for the registration of students in the Senior High Schools on Friday, July 10,2020.

Their decision to register these students came up after an emergency meeting between Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) in Accra on Thursday, 9th July, 2020.

Kwesi Pratt Jnr, said the usage of senior High Schools as registration centers are not backed by law.

“This country is governed by laws and the demarcation of places as registration centers isn’t an exception. The law doesn’t approve of anyone using these SHSs as centers and so anyone does so is going contrary to the law. This issue is an act of convenience and what we should be asking ourselves is whether the law accepts acts of convenience. This is pure illegality,” he added.

He emphasized that the Constitutional Instrument (C.I) which was presented to Parliament in regard to registration center, Senior High Schools were not included.
