The Xiaomi Redmi K50 range is still shrouded in mystery, with little to no information available. However, we now know some of the major specifications of the family’s top-tier member, the K50 Pro+, according to a well-known Weibo source.

Of course. Xiaomi looks to be preparing a new Pro+ edition of the K50, and its key specifications have been disclosed. The powerful but as-yet unknown Snapdragon 898 CPU will power the device, while a 5,000 mAh battery will keep the lights on.

In terms of lighting, the display is said to be curved, with a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera and an under-display fingerprint reader. At least, that’s what we gathered from the Weibo post’s faulty Google translation.

On the camera front, we may expect a 108MP primary camera and a periscope telephoto shooter. If those specifications are correct, the Pro+ will be a full-fledged flagship, not simply a flagship killer.

However, the Snapdragon 898 component leads us to assume that the K50 Pro+ will not be available for the holiday season this year.

Because Qualcomm typically releases its flagship SoCs towards the end of each year, with the first smartphones utilizing the company’s latest and best arriving at the start of the following. As a result, it’s safe to predict that the Redmi K50 Pro+ will be available sometime in early 2022.

On the camera front, we should see a 108MP main camera coupled with a periscope telephoto shooter. If those specs are accurate, the Pro+ would be a full-fledged flagship and not just a flagship killer.

The Snapdragon 898 part leads us to believe the K50 Pro+ won’t be coming around for this year’s holiday season, though.
