The company works under a parent company called Activision Blizzard which consists of many subsidiary studios. There is this news that the tech giant Microsoft is going to buy Activision.
Is Microsoft going to acquire Activision?
There is no denying the fact that Microsoft is bound to acquire Activision. This is one of the biggest of Microsoft’s transaction ever. The tech giant is going to acquire Activision in a transaction which is valued at $68.7 billion, including Activision Blizzard’s net cash. In a press release on Tuesday, Microsoft chairman and CEO Satya Nadella said
“Gaming is the most dynamic and exciting category in entertainment across all platforms today and will play a key role in the development of metaverse platforms.”
The amount Microsoft will pay in acquiring Activision is almost twice of what LinkedIn paid ($26bn) for a takeover in 2016. Activision is noted for its franchises Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Candy Crush.
