I didn’t come from America to destroy Ghana’s education system – Adutwum

There is no evidence that Education Minister Yaw Adutwum is harming Ghana’s education sector, he has said.

He insists he will not leave the United States to destroy the educational system there.

Adutwum made this statement during a Meet The Press event hosted by the Information Ministry.

As long as the Ghanaian education sector is not harmed, he’ll keep his feet on the ground.

When people inquire as to what he’s up to, I always respond with, “What am I up to?” For us, working is a must; I left my job in the United States with over 200 employees so that I could come and perform in Ghana? I’ve come to ruin education, am I right?

Every day, if I have the opportunity, I would work to improve the educational system in the United States. Even if my work may be flawed, we still want to improve this system. He said, “The system is broken, and I’m going to walk on my toes.”

Strikes by teachers have affected the administration’s second year in office, with the most noteworthy being UTAG, which has now been going on for three weeks.
