TheBBCghana.Com has gathered that a total of 648 people have been identified and quarantine at the Accra Girls Senior High School after eight persons tested positive to the viral coronavirus pandemic.
Yesterday, parents stormed the school to withdraw their wards after six students were reported to test positive but police refused them from doing so.
The school recorded their first case on June 29 which was six students before an additional two were reported in the morning.
The six patients were sent to Ga East Municipal Hospital for treatment on Saturday.
In a press briefing today, the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osie Adutwum explained that 648 students have been isolated..
This was after they conducted contact tracing in the school and the instructor and his wife have also been quarantine among the isolated students.
Background of the story
It could be recalled that six (6) students from the Accra Girls Senior High School were confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus pandemic. This necessitated further contact tracing which has resulted in that 648 were said to have been into contact with the six (6) confirmed cases in the school.
