“Grant study leave with pay to Teachers doing their Masters in Education” – GNAT tells GES

GNAT has urged GES to grant study leave with pay to qualified teachers pursuing second degrees in Education related courses and be put on the next rank upon successful completion.

The union at its 6th Quadrennial National Delegates Conference held on the 2nd-7th January 2022 made this decision as part of conference resolutions held at the KNUST Great Hall, Kumasi.

”That GNAT impresses upon the GES to grant study leave with pay to qualified teachers pursuing second degrees in Education related courses and be put on the next rank upon successful completion.” The GNAT said.

Preferential  Treatments

The GNAT also called on the GES to implement the policy of preferential treatment to teachers in deprived areas when granting study leave with pay.

” GNAT advocate for Government to implement the policy of preferential treatment to teachers in deprived areas when granting study leave with pay” The resolution indicated.

CCP Curriculum Training

The association seeks to work with the GES to train teachers on the new curriculum as well as provide all teaching and learning resources needed in the schools for its implementation.

Transfer Grants

GNAT impresses upon the GES to pay T&T/transfer grants to deserving teachers promptly.

GNATCTF Programme

The 2022 Conference is also an expansion of the GNAT/CTF programme to cover more teachers.

The GNAT also impresses upon GES to provide regular in-service training for its employees.

Textbooks

The GNAT has been tasked to work hand in hand with the GES and NaCCA to expedite action on the provision of textbooks and all other logistics needed by the schools to enhance the smooth implementation of the Standard Based Curriculum.
