Gayle King, a female American television personality born December 28, 1954, is an author and broadcast journalist. She is a broadcast journalist for CBS News and a co-host to a morning program dubbed, CBS mornings. She also works as an editor-at-large for The Oprah Magazine.
She is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a degree in Psychology.
Gayle King started her career as a production assistant at WJZ-TV in Baltimore where she met Oprah Winfrey who was the anchor for the station at the time. She was later trained as a reporter at WUSA-TV in Washington D.C. Kong later moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and worked as a weekend anchor and a general assignment reporter at WDAF-TV. In 1981 King was hired as a news anchor for WFSB in Hartford, where she worked for 18 years.
King hosted and acted as a co-host to many TV shows such as “The Oprah Winfrey Show “, “Cover to Cover”, “The Gayle King Show” and “This Morning”.
