Reminiscing great instrumentalists in the States can’t be left out Derrick Martin affectionately called D’Mar. He has been travelling the world and spent 17 years as the lead drummer for the legendary Little Richard.
Historically, the late Richard Wayne Penniman, known as Little Richard, was an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He was an influential figure in popular music and culture for seven decades.
And the good news for the people of Afrika especially Ghanaians is that D’Mar, a renowned drummer, percussionist, singer, songwriter, producer and educator, readies to partner the Taste of Afrika to introduce young Afrikans into every aspect of music production.
D’Mar’s partnership with The Taste of Afrika will see him teaching young Afrikans who have showbiz at heart music production, songwriting, drumming, etc. as he has been doing in the United State of America.
As part of his wiliness to make the world have a feel of his potential, D’Mar has created a music education program called Drums & More, which he performs for schools throughout the world.

Drums & More, an initiative by D Mar teaches youngsters’ drumming and production. It’s simply an informative and energetic program that covers the history of the drum set and helps inspire students to embrace arts and education.
