Ghana Election 2020: Pollster, Ben Ephson says the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is likely to lose 4 parliamentary seats for dismissing 18 members who filed to contest for a parliamentary seat as an independent candidate in their constituencies.
A statement signed by the Umbrella’s party General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia on Tuesday, 3rd November, declared that all the affected 18 members who decided to contest for Parliament seats on the ticket of independent candidature have forfeited their membership right in the NDC, and therefore, were dismissed from the party.
Reaction to the NDC’s decision on dismissing its 18 parliamentary independent candidates, Ben Ephson said on Accra-based Angel Fm “…the NDC will lose Garu Parliamentary seat in the Upper East Region, they will also lose [Krachi] Nchumuru Parliamentary seat in the Oti Region.”
He added “In Upper West, the New Patriotic Party is going to win the Nadowli- Kaleo Parliamentary seat and in Damango, the seat won’t go in favour of the NDC..”
