According to the last HIV/AIDs cases report which was conducted in 2019, Bono Region is ahead of other regions.

This was disclosed to the public by the Ashanti Regional Technical Co-ordinator of HIV/AIDs Commission, Mrs Olivia Greyham in an interview on Sweet FM’s Morning Show in Kumasi with the host, Mr Addai.

She stated that HIV/AIDs prevalence rate in Ghana, from 2019 to date is topped by the newly created region Bono with 3.4% rate.

According to Mrs Olivia, Ashanti Region placed the Second position with 3.2% tiring with Greater Accra also with the same rate of cases 3.2%. This was followed by Western region with 2.9% in that order.

She said with adult prevalence rate Bono Region again topped with 2.66 with Kumasi on the 4th position with 1.94%.

With Ashanti Region, she said Kwadaso is leading with 6.44 prevalence rate while Amansie West follows with 3.5% rate with Diane following with 3%.

Ashanti Regional Technical Co-ordinator of HIV/AIDS has advised Ghanaians not to fear to test for HIV/AIDS where HIV Is the virus and AIDS the illness.

According to her, when one is tested early it means that the virus will be better managed.
