Some Ghanaian students studying in Ukraine are presently trapped and in trouble, according to the National Union of Ghanaian Students (NUGS).

This comes after recent tensions over Russian assaults on Ukraine, which many worries might spark a third world war.

Russia opposes NATO’s eastward expansion, which will damage Ukraine.

According to NUGS, several Ghanaian students have already fled the nation for their life due to the escalating crisis.

According to NUGS, several of these students who just returned from Ukraine have contacted them to explain the situation and push for their evacuation.

They are thus asking the government to take immediate action to evacuate all Ghanaian students living near the Russian-Ukrainian combat zones.

“As the situation in the region worsens, governments throughout the globe prioritize the evacuation of their populations to protect their citizens. As a result of increased instability and dread among our pupils, some have abandoned the area.

In the statement, it added that “some of those students, including Chapter Executives of NUGS in Ukraine, have touched down and contacted the National Secretariat of NUGS, suggesting immediate actions be taken to protect their colleagues’ safety”.

Meanwhile, foreign media reports say Russia has invaded Ukraine. RUSSIA’S TROOPS HAVE BEEN CAMPING ON

Since the strikes started, the US and the EU have imposed sanctions on Russia, and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said that the world is “in danger” because to the Ukraine-Russia situation.
