Publishers are printing KG to Basic 6 Textbooks – Education minister

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has indicated that Publishers are in negotiation with the Education Ministry for the printing of Textbooks for KG to Basic 6 Learners.

The Minister made this revelation on Ghana Television’s current affairs programme, Talking Point on Sunday, Januarty16, 2022.

The Minister indicated, that textbooks negotiation is currently ongoing between the publishers and the procurement division of the Ministry of Education.

The Minister added, that in the next few days or weeks, the Ministry of Education shall go to the printers for the printing of all textbooks from Kindergarten to Primary 6 for a successful implementation of the Standard Based Curriculum.

The Standard Based Curriculum.

The Standard Based Curriculum was introduced by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) in 2019.

Since the introduction of the new curriculum in 2019, the Ghana Education Service has not been able to provide textbooks to be used in all public basic schools.
